How Current Is the Pricing Data on KompWatch Comparison Pages?
KompWatch publishes dedicated comparison pages (e.g. vs Crayon, vs Klue) that include competitor pricing figures. This article explains where those numbers come from and how often they're updated.
Where the Pricing Data Comes From
Competitor pricing on comparison pages is sourced from:
- Vendr / Buyer Benchmarks — aggregated deal data from Vendr's annual SaaS pricing reports (the most recent is Vendr 2026)
- Public pricing pages — where competitors publish pricing openly
- G2, Capterra, and community sources — peer-reported ranges for tools that gate their pricing behind sales calls
This is research-backed data, not real-time scraping. It represents typical contract ranges, not guaranteed quotes.
Is It Real-Time?
No. Competitor pricing on comparison pages is reviewed and updated manually — typically when a pricing change is publicly announced or when Vendr releases updated benchmark data.
This is different from what KompWatch monitors for your own tracked competitors: your monitored competitors are scraped on your plan's schedule (daily / every 6h / hourly) and changes are surfaced as alerts.
How Accurate Is It?
Figures are as accurate as the sources allow:
- Enterprise tools (Klue, Crayon, Kompyte) often don't publish pricing publicly. Figures represent typical contract ranges from buyer benchmarks and are noted as approximate.
- Self-serve tools (Caelian, Seeto) publish pricing openly — those figures are more reliable.
- All prices are noted with the data vintage (e.g. "Vendr 2026 data") so you can assess freshness.
Comparison pages include a footnote: "Competitor pricing is approximate and subject to change."
What If the Pricing Looks Wrong?
Pricing changes fast. If you spot a figure that looks out of date:
- Check the competitor's website directly — their pricing page is the authoritative source.
- Email us at support@kompwatch.com with the correct figure and a source link. We'll update the page promptly.
We appreciate corrections — keeping this data accurate helps everyone evaluate tools fairly.
Does KompWatch Monitor Its Own Competitor Prices?
Yes — we monitor competitor pricing pages using KompWatch itself. When we detect a change on Crayon, Klue, or another competitor's pricing page, we review it and update comparison content accordingly. Think of it as eating our own dog food.
