KompWatch takes data privacy seriously. This page explains your rights and how to exercise them.
Your Data Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
As a KompWatch user, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Rectification — Correct inaccurate personal data
- Erasure — Request deletion of your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — Object to specific processing activities
What Data We Store
- Account: email address, name, creation date
- Subscription: Stripe customer ID, plan, billing status
- Competitor monitoring: URLs you track, snapshots, detected changes
- Email: digest history sent to your address
We do not store payment card details — all payment data is handled by Stripe.
How to Request Data Deletion
Email privacy@kompwatch.com with:
- Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
- Your account email address
We will:
- Confirm your identity
- Delete your account, competitors, snapshots, changes, and digests
- Remove your email from all mailing lists
- Confirm deletion within 30 days (typically within 5 business days)
Note: Some data may be retained in backups for up to 30 days after deletion, then permanently purged.
Data Portability
To request an export of your data, email privacy@kompwatch.com with subject "Data Export Request". We'll provide a JSON export within 30 days.
