I Can't Add More Competitors — Plan Limit Reached
If you try to add a new competitor and see a message like "You've reached your plan's competitor limit," you have three options: free a slot, upgrade, or pause existing competitors.
What Are the Limits?

Option 1: Pause a Competitor to Free a Slot
Pausing stops new snapshots without deleting any historical data — you keep all your change history.
- Go to kompwatch.com/competitors
- Click Pause on a competitor you don't need to monitor right now
- Try adding the new competitor again
A paused competitor counts against your limit. Once paused, click Resume at any time to start monitoring it again.
Option 2: Delete a Competitor You No Longer Need
This is permanent. Deleting a competitor removes all its snapshots and change history with no recovery. Use Pause if you might want the history later.
- Go to kompwatch.com/competitors
- Click Remove on the competitor row
- Confirm the deletion prompt
Option 3: Upgrade Your Plan
If you regularly hit your limit, upgrading gives you more slots and faster snapshot frequency:
- Pro ($49/mo) — 10 competitors, snapshots every 6 hours
- Team ($149/mo) — 50 competitors, snapshots every hour

Frequently Asked Questions
Does a paused competitor count toward my limit? Yes. Pausing stops monitoring but the competitor still occupies a slot. To fully free a slot, you need to delete the competitor.
What if I'm on the Free plan and need 3 competitors? Upgrade to Pro. You can start a Pro trial directly from kompwatch.com/pricing.
Can I exceed the limit temporarily? No — the limit is enforced at the API level. You must free a slot or upgrade before adding a new competitor.
I deleted a competitor by accident — can I recover the data? Deleted data cannot be recovered. Add the URL again to start monitoring fresh; KompWatch will begin a new snapshot history from that point.
