Switching from Kompyte to KompWatch
Kompyte is now three acquisitions deep: Semrush acquired Kompyte in 2022, then Adobe acquired Semrush for $1.9B in February 2026. Your competitive intelligence tool is now buried inside an enterprise creative-software conglomerate whose core business has nothing to do with CI. If you're evaluating alternatives due to pricing changes, product direction uncertainty, or sunset risk, this guide covers how KompWatch compares and how to get started.
Why Teams Switch
Most teams that switch from Kompyte to KompWatch cite:
- Cost — Kompyte is priced for enterprise (~$8K/yr, sales-gated); KompWatch starts free and Pro is $49/mo, self-serve
- Three acquisitions deep — Kompyte → Semrush → Adobe. Each layer adds distance from the original product roadmap and increases the risk of being bundled into a larger enterprise suite or quietly deprecated
- Sunset/bundle risk — Adobe's go-to-market is enterprise annual contracts. Expect Kompyte to be folded into a broader Adobe marketing cloud bundle — or neglected as a non-core feature — rather than developed independently
- Missing features — Kompyte lacks AI-generated change summaries and job listing tracking, both of which KompWatch includes

Where KompWatch wins: monitoring speed, simplicity, pricing. KompWatch tracks website changes — pricing pages, feature pages, blog posts, job listings — and delivers plain-English AI digests. If that's 80% of what you used Kompyte for, KompWatch is a significant downgrade in complexity and cost.
Where Kompyte wins: if you need native battlecard generation, CRM-synced win/loss workflows, or the full Semrush data layer alongside CI, Kompyte's enterprise feature set is deeper. KompWatch does not replace a full CI platform for teams that need those workflows.
How to Switch
You can't import monitors directly from Kompyte, but setup is fast — most teams are tracking the same competitors within 15 minutes.
- Sign up at kompwatch.com — free, no credit card required.
- Add the same competitor URLs you were tracking. See Adding a Competitor.
- Set CSS selectors for specific page sections (e.g.
.pricing-table,#features). This reduces noise significantly — something Kompyte's full-page monitoring doesn't offer. See CSS Selector Targeting. - Connect Slack in Settings → Integrations if your team uses a
#competitive-intelchannel.
Your first snapshot kicks off immediately when you save — it appears within seconds. Change detection begins after the second snapshot — typically within 24 hours on Free or a few hours on Pro.
Will I Lose My Kompyte History?
KompWatch does not import historical data from Kompyte. Your monitoring history starts fresh from when you add a competitor. If you have important historical changes or battlecard content in Kompyte, export it before deactivating your account.
What About Battlecards?
KompWatch now includes one-click battlecard export. From any competitor's detail page, click Export Battlecard to download a formatted HTML battlecard — pre-structured with an overview, key intel (HIGH/CRITICAL changes), and a full change log. Open in any browser or print to PDF.
If you relied on Kompyte's native battlecard generation or CRM-synced templates, the HTML export covers the core use case but doesn't replicate CRM sync. Most teams use the HTML export for sales sharing and maintain CRM battlecard templates separately.
Running Both in Parallel
KompWatch's free tier (2 competitors) lets you run it alongside Kompyte for a month to compare digest quality before committing. This is the lowest-risk evaluation path, especially if you're mid-contract with Semrush.
