Onboarding Emails — What They Are and How to Manage Them

When you sign up for KompWatch, you'll receive a short sequence of emails over your first week. This article explains what each email is, why it's sent, and how to stop receiving them.

What Emails Will I Receive?

KompWatch sends up to 6 emails over your first two weeks, depending on your plan:

Note: Emails from day 5 onward are only sent to users on the Free plan. If you upgrade to Pro or Team at any point, the remaining nurture emails stop. The day-14 email is the last in the sequence.

The Day-2 Email Includes a G2 Review Link — Is That Legitimate?

Yes. The Day-2 email contains a purple "Leave a review on G2" button. This is an optional request — it helps other teams discover KompWatch and is entirely up to you. Clicking it takes you directly to KompWatch's G2 listing. We never ask for any personal information through G2 beyond what you choose to share in a public review.

Why Am I Getting These Emails?

These are automated onboarding emails sent to all new KompWatch accounts. They're designed to help you set up monitoring quickly and understand what KompWatch can do.

They are not marketing newsletters — the sequence ends at day 14 (or earlier if you upgrade), after which you'll only receive your regular competitor change digests.

How Do I Stop Receiving Them?

If you'd prefer not to receive the remaining onboarding emails, email support@kompwatch.com with your account email and we'll remove you from the sequence immediately.

Notification preferences — including email digest toggle and minimum severity threshold — are available now at Settings → Notifications.

These Look Suspicious — Are They Legitimate?

Yes. KompWatch onboarding emails are sent from hello@kompwatch.com. If you're unsure, here's how to verify:

  • All emails link only to kompwatch.com domains
  • They include an "Manage preferences" link at the bottom pointing to kompwatch.com/settings
  • We never ask for passwords, payment details, or personal information over email

If you receive an email claiming to be from KompWatch that doesn't match the above, forward it to support@kompwatch.com.

Will I Get Digest Emails Too?

Yes, separately. Your competitor change digest is a different email sent on your plan's schedule (weekly for Free, daily for Pro). The onboarding sequence is a one-time thing — digests continue for as long as your account is active and monitoring competitors.
