Managing Your Competitors — Edit, Pause, and Delete

All competitor management happens on the Competitors page at kompwatch.com/competitors.

Viewing a Competitor's Change History

Click any competitor's name on the Competitors page (or dashboard) to open its detail page (/competitors/[id]). There you'll find:

  • Status badge — Active or Paused
  • Snapshot and change counts — total snapshots taken and changes detected since you started tracking
  • Full change history — up to 50 most recent changes, each showing severity, change type, AI summary, and the page that changed
  • "Tracking since" date — when monitoring began for this competitor

Use the detail page to do a quick competitive audit before a sales call, board meeting, or product planning session.

Pausing a Competitor

Pausing stops new snapshots and change detection without deleting any data. Use this when:

  • A competitor is undergoing a known redesign and you expect a flood of noise
  • You've hit your plan's competitor limit and want to free a slot temporarily

To pause:

  1. Go to kompwatch.com/competitors
  2. Click Pause on the right side of the competitor row

A paused competitor shows a grey status dot. Click Resume to re-enable monitoring. No digest changes are generated while paused.

Deleting a Competitor

Deleting permanently removes the competitor and all its historical snapshots and change data.

  1. Go to kompwatch.com/competitors
  2. Click Remove on the right side of the competitor row
  3. Confirm the deletion in the prompt

This action is irreversible. If you want to stop monitoring temporarily without losing history, use Pause instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I re-activate a paused competitor? Yes — click Resume on the competitor row. Monitoring resumes on the next snapshot cycle.

If I delete a competitor and re-add it, do I lose history? Yes. Deleting removes all snapshots and change records. If you re-add the same URL, KompWatch starts fresh.

Can I bulk-delete competitors? Not yet — each competitor must be deleted individually.
